ANFA suspends players alleged of match fixing

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has suspended three players including Captain Sagar Thapa, Sandip Rai, Ritesh Thapa and former players Bikash Singh and Anjan KC (former coach of Three Star Club) for their alleged involvement in match fixing.

The five were arrested by police on Wednesday for investigation into alleged match fixing in both national and international matches.

Issuing a press release on Thursday, the football body said that it was "saddened" by the development and added it would keep the concerned players out of any game or event related to football.

The release issued by ANFA's general secretary Dhirendra Pradhan also assures the police of any assistance it might need during the investigation.
